Seven practical rules for meeting someone to complete a swap

Whether you are trading a phone, a bike, or a car, these habits keep every handover calm, clear, and safe.

Most swaps on Swaplyo go smoothly because members communicate in-app, agree terms in writing, and meet prepared. A few simple rules reduce risk for everyone.

Before you meet

  • Keep all negotiation and agreements inside Swaplyo messages
  • Share a clear checklist of what each person is bringing
  • Choose a public, well-lit location — never a private home for first meetings
  • Tell a friend where you are going and when you expect to finish

At the handover

  • Inspect items carefully before confirming the swap is complete
  • For vehicles, verify V5C, keys, service history, and ID where appropriate
  • Use escrow for any cash difference — never large bank transfers direct to strangers

If something feels wrong, pause the deal. You can report a profile or listing from Swaplyo at any time, and our moderation team will review it.
